PNP-Normin launches project 'Double Barrel Alpha'
CAMP
Alagar, Cagayan de Oro City--Our accomplishments tally is reset back
to zero!
Thus,
said Northern Mindanao police regional director PCSupt Noel Constantino as he
signaled the shift in the anti-illegal drug campaign strategy.
PCSupt
Constantino himself personally presented Project Double Barrel Alpha, the
revitalized anti-illegal drug campaign strategy in a command conference over
the weekend at Camp Alagar with ranking police officials from across the region
in attendance.
"Although
the new approach in anti-illegal drug operations will still be launched
nationwide within few days, we have already taken the lead as always and
expects ground commanders to deliver and meet our target before the year
ends," Constantino said.
"Project
Double Barrel Alpha will place stronger focus on arresting prominent
personalities in the government, military, police and business industry
involved in the illegal drug trade," NorMin police regional spokesperson
PSupt Surki Sereñas said.
"The
new approach aims to reduce killings and put more emphasis into arresting high
value targets tied to drug trade and at the same time assist in facilitating
drug problem intervention programs," Sereñas added.
The
spokesperson also said that another important component infused in the Project
Double Barrel Alpha will be on the way police operates. The new strategy will
see police working with community leaders to clear neighborhoods of drugs and
partnering with other sectors of society to facilitate intervention such as
community-based rehabilitation programs. (PIO PRO10)
